WINNECONNE, Wis. — The Winneconne school board clerk is refusing to certify recall petitions filed against two board members.
Clerk Kari Flagg is claiming that the circulation period for the recall petitions never officially started, even though she accepted registration documents on July 16.
The recall organizers turned in more than 2,300 signatures against board president Kati Calewarts and vice president Dean Ackmann last month.
Recall organizers have filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
