A local attorney says a Republican proposal to repeal the estate tax wouldn’t impact most people.
Sarah Kons is with the Hooper Law office. She says the estate tax only applies to about .02 percent of the population. She says it only applies to money that is passed in excess of $5.49 million per person.
The tax reform bill President Trump and Republican leaders in Congress are proposing also calls for reducing the corporate tax rate and reducing income tax brackets from seven to three.
