Oshkosh officials are considering a “road diet” for Jackson Street, north of the downtown area.
Consultants looked at traffic patterns between Church Avenue and I-41. They’re recommending going from two lanes in each direction to one.
City Manager Mark Rohloff says there are advantages and disadvantages.
The consultants recommend the “road diet” along Jackson Street be done in stages, starting with the stretch south of New York Avenue.
Oshkosh leaders held a meeting Monday night with businesses and homeowners along the street.
A similar “road diet” was put in place along Murdock Avenue, west of Jackson Street, a few years ago.
