Wisconsin appeals court has ruled against Steven Avery in his latest quest for a new trial in the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.
The decision released today says Avery isn’t entitled to an evidentiary hearing because a lower court did not err in denying motions raising claims about evidence and effectiveness of Avery’s trial attorneys. Avery also wanted a hearing to introduce evidence of a third party suspect.
