The Appleton School District outlines the procedure it is using for non-compliance with mask mandates this fall. In an email to parents, the district says students will first be reminded of the policy–and then shown proper mask-wearing techniques. If that fails to get compliance, a meeting will be held between the student and administrators. Further non-compliance would result in a meeting between parents and administrators. The final step would be to develop a plan for the student to learn virtually. For adults refusing to comply with wearing a mask, they will be asked to put on a face covering–and then be removed from the building if they don’t. Police will be called if the adult also refuses to leave–and will be charged with trespassing.
