The Friends of the Appleton Public Library are launching a 12-million dollar fundraising campaign. The group hopes to raise the money that will be needed to bridge the gap between the 26-point-four million dollars the city is committed to borrowing for the new library project–and the 39-million dollar bid that came in. Friends Director Kara Sullivan says they brought in fundraising consultants to conduct a study that finds strong interest in private funding for the library project…………..
The Appleton Library board still hopes to break ground this summer–with the new library opening in the fall of 2023.
