UW-Oshkosh Earth Month
Stephanie Spehar is the Director of the Sustainability Institute for Regional Transformations and an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh joins us along with their Earth Week keynote speaker Venice R. “No Mow May”
We’re hearing from Israel Del Toro, a Biology Professor at Lawrence University who was also a recently elected member of Appleton’s Common Council. No Mow May returns to Appleton this spring and several other communities in the Badger State have also jumped on board. Appleton’s initiative has also received some national attention. A recent New York Times Article highlight’s the city’s efforts.
United Way Fox Cities Volunteering
Tony Gonzalez and Sue Vanden Broek join to share more about the impacts of volunteering. We walk through some volunteer facts and learn more about how United Way Fox Cities is able to consistently engage nearly 250 long-term volunteers!
