(FOND DU LAC, WI)–Fond du Lac Fire-Rescue is investigating the cause of a marsh fire that was fueled by dry grass and high winds. Fire fighters were called to an area on Lakeshore Drive just north of Howard Litscher Drive at 11:13 Tuesday morning.
When crews arrived, flames were spreading quickly. Fond du Lac Fire-Rescue brought in its Brush Response A-T-V because of the remote location. The fire was brought under control within 45-minutes.
Fond du Lac Fire-Rescue Interim Chief Erick Gerritson remind people that current dry conditions are creating an extreme fire risk for grass and marsh fires.
