OSHKOSH, Wis–Mediation will not settle a legal dispute between those held hostage at a Neenah business in 2015 and the city. A planned mediation hearing scheduled for today (Tuesday) in Winnebago County has been canceled. A trial is now set for November 6th.
A number of people taken hostage by Brian Flatoff at Eagle Nation Cycles claim their rights were violated by Neenah Police during the incident. The group, which includes former Eagle Nation owner Stephen Erato, says police treated them like criminals instead of victims.
They are seeking unspecified damages.
