MENASHA, Wis. — An officer-involved shooting in Menasha that resulted in the death of a man is under investigation.
Officers with the Menasha and Fox Crossing police departments were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Geneva Road just after 3 p.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived, they encountered a man armed with what we’re described as “bladed weapons.” A Menasha officer then fired their firearm at the man, striking him.
Officers began life-saving measures on the man that were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
State officials are investigating the shooting. That includes reviewing officers’ body cam footage.
The officer involved in the shooting is now on paid administrative leave, which is standard policy.
