NEENAH, Wis–A fatal shooting incident in Neenah involving two members of an undercover police unit was justified. Sheboygan County District Attorney Joel Urmanski says the two members of the Lake Winnebago Metropolitan Enforcement Group acted properly in shooting and killing Nathan Briese of Neenah during an attempted arrest at a gas station along South Commercial Street back in August.

According to an investigation conducted by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Briese sold drugs to an undercover informant on the day of the shooting, and officers tracked him to the gas station, where they planned to arrest him. Briese allegedly pulled a gun and two of the officers opened fire.
The names of the officers involved are not going to be released, as the department says that doing so would jeopardize on-going drug investigations.
