LA CROSSE, Wis. — The Oshkosh Corporation is accused of engaging in price fixing the cost of fire trucks. The city of La Crosse is suing Oshkosh Corp, its subsidiary Pierce Manufacturing and the Fire Apparatus Manufacturers Association, claiming the companies and the group conspire to suppress the supply of fire trucks and raise their prices.
The class action suit points out that emergency vehicle prices have doubled in the last 10 years, a rate they say is not tied to economic factors. La Crosse also questions why the delivery time for trucks has gone from 18 months to four years.
The city seeks financial compensation for what it calls “inflated” prices for trucks it has purchased from Oshkosh and Pierce. Oshkosh Corp has not filed a response to those claims.
