Chef Jeff’s Party Mix
Makes about 3 gallon-size bags
INGREDIENTS
• Butter – 16 ounces (1 pound)
• Worcestershire sauce – 16 ounces (1 pint)
• Sweet Mama BOLD Rub – 3/4 cup
• Crispix cereal (corn and rice) – 1 family size box
• Honey Nut Cheerios (or generic) – 1 family size box
• Wheat Chex – largest box you can find
• Crunchy Cheetos (or generic) – 1 party size bag
• Pretzels, small twists – 1 pound bag
• Peanuts or mixed nuts (optional) – 2 pounds
DIRECTIONS
-
Space oven racks to fit large roasting pans and preheat oven to 200°F.
-
In a medium kettle, melt the butter. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and BBQ rub to make the dressing.
-
Divide cereal and snacks evenly among large roasting pans.
-
Pour dressing evenly over the mix.
-
Gently toss to coat, being careful not to break the cereal and snacks.
-
Dry roast for several hours, stirring at least every hour, until fully absorbed and dried. For best results, reduce heat to 170°F and roast overnight. It cannot be too dry.
-
Cool completely before storing in airtight containers or zip-top bags to keep fresh and crispy.
Enjoy!
