(APPLETON, WI) — As our country marks its semiquincentennial this year, an Appleton museum is highlighting its exhibit dedicated to the city’s “native son.”
The History Museum at the Castle is home to items that were used by illusionist and stunt performer Harry Houdini–who lived in Appleton during his early childhood years.
Education and Collections Manager Erin Comer tells our TV partner WBAY-TV 2 that Houdini is fascinating to many people.
Appleton has honored Houdini over time–including naming a plaza and an elementary school after him.
This year is the 100th anniversary of his death.
