Do you know what saying I have found to be ridiculous ever since I was a kid?
“It’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game”
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s pivotal to encourage sportsmanlike conduct in young people, and trying your best is a GOOD thing.
Let’s be real though, in the adult world, you rarely get points for trying. You get points for doing.
The new summer blockbuster “Masters of the Universe” played the game very well.
There were bright colors, fun action sequences, and plenty of attempts at humor that both hit and missed throughout the 140 minute run time.
It wanted to be a fun movie, and tried very hard to be, I just think it missed the mark.
Don’t let the failed box office numbers fool you, it’s definitely better than the numbers imply, but with how action heavy Hollywood is these days, you really need to do something special to stand out.
Unfortunately, I don’t think this one hit that mark, and will be one of the more forgettable romps this summer.
My special cohost for this episode, Laura Lee (Mornings with Laura Lee and Cutter on WAPL), had a very different opinion, leading me to believe that I may just be dead inside.
We’ll let you be the judge.
Listen below to our SPOILER FREE review of the new He-Man movie, and then go see it and decide for yourself!!
