SEVASTOPOL, Wis. — A person drowns in the waters off a Door County park.
According to the sheriff’s office, a group of people were swimming near George Pinney County Park in Sevastapol around 2:50 p.m. Sunday when one of them yelled to a nearby boat to throw a life buoy.
One of the people on the boat eventually jumped into the water and pulled the struggling swimmer back to the craft.
CPR was conducted, but the swimmer was declared dead at Door County Medical Center a short time later.
The Wisconsin DNR is conducting an investigation.
