GREEN BAY, Wis. — The cause of a warehouse fire during a blizzard remains undetermined four months later. However, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department has identified some contributing factors to the March 16 blaze at Green Bay Converting’s Larson Road warehouse.
In a Facebook post, Green Bay Metro says the accumulated snow load likely caused the building’s roof to collapse, which was followed by the fire. The roof failure impacted the warehouse’s utility system and fire sprinkler system, which prevented fire containment.
The blizzard dumped nearly 27 inches of snow between March 14 and 17, while winds were clocked at 59 mph.
