OSHKOSH, Wis. — The Oshkosh Area School District will continue to use school resource officers.
The district and the Oshkosh Police Department have reached a memorandum of understanding to continue the program at a cost of $300,000.
School board member Molly Smiltneek is upset the district will not have oversight of those officers………..
Board member Barbara Herzog notes that the officers are not being used to control student behavior………
An Oshkosh police resource officer was given a conduct warning in 2024 for providing security video footage to the former principal at Vel Phillips Middle School to see what candidates were being interviewed for the open principal position at Carl Traeger Middle School.
