Members of a parish on Appleton’s north side got to talk with a federal lawmaker about their concerns with immigration policies.
Republican Congressman Mike Gallagher of Green Bay went to St. Therese Parish on Wisconsin Avenue yesterday morning. He says the level of fear in the country has been ratcheted up, even over the last week.
More than three-quarters of the members at St. Therese are Hispanic. Church member Norys Pina says they’re are hard working, and they’re part of the community.
Gallagher says border security is the biggest focus for Congress right now.
