Grand Chute has enough land set aside for parks.
That’s what a consultant found, after also taking into account Bubolz Nature Preserve and the county-owned Plamann Park.
Deputy Public Works Director Karen Heyerman says under a national standard, they should have about 35 acres of neighborhood parks. She says right now, they have about 50 acres.
The town’s 40 acres of larger, community parks is well below the standard of about 150. Plamann Park on the town’s northeast side has more than 250 acres of space.
The consultant says the town should buy land for parks in developing areas.
