Special Olympics selected 12 players from across the world, to compete in the NBA Cares Special Olympics Unified Sports Game. The game partners Special Olympics athletes with NBA and WNBA players and legends to create a game of inclusion and acceptance.
Representing Wisconsin and the United States, is 23-year-old Micah Gumness from Pickett, Wisconsin. We got to hear from Micah and his dad Gregg, on his upcoming trip. Pictured in the photo below is Micah (#11) and four of his six brothers.
We also chat with Volunteer Fox Cities this week! Joining Kristin Cates, is Heidi Fredrickson with Community Benefit Tree. Heidi shares more on why they’re raising awareness for medical debt and gives us insight on two new volunteer positions within the organization.
