Astronomers are releasing the first-ever images of a black hole, and a local expert is amazed at how scientists found a way to bring new technology together.
UW-Fox Valley Barlow Planetarium Director Alan Peche says they connected radio telescopes all the way around the world. He says they were able to get pictures of the black hole about 55 million light years from Earth.
Peche says the massive black hole is at the center of a galaxy. He says they’re hard to see, but they’re typically detected by noticing how they affect things around them.
