March was a bad month for home sales in the state.
Economist David Clark of the Wisconsin Realtors Association says they fell by 14 percent, compared to March of last year. The statewide median price rose by six percent, to $185,000.
Clark blames the tight inventories, but he thinks the rough winter may also have had an impact. He says some people probably weren’t out shopping for homes, because of the cold temperatures and snow.
In the northeast region, sales were down almost 12 percent. The median price rose seven percent to nearly $155,000.
