Oshkosh West High School is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its band with special concerts tonight and tomorrow.
District spokeswoman Katie Nieman is looking back at the history of the band. She says it was founded in 1919 as a club. She says since then it’s grown to be one of the largest band programs in the state.
There are about 250 members this year. Tonight’s concert will feature a special alumni band with members from as far back as the 1960s. The concerts start at 8:00 p.m. tonight and tomorrow at the Kimball Auditorium. Both of them are free.
