A judge ruled that the suspect in a double murder in Hobart is competent to stand trial.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Cayer of Ashwaubenon is charged with killing his ex-girlfriend, 25-year-old Sabrina Teague, and her 63-year-old mother, Heesun, in June of last year. His attorneys asked for a competency exam last month, and Judge William Atkinson reviewed the findings.
Cayer entered pleas of not guilty by mental disease or defect. He’s also charged with attempted murder, after Sabrina’s boyfriend survived the attack.
Cayer’s competency was also an issue, after he was initially arrested.
