One of the “Monfils 6” is now a free man.
Rey Moore was released from John C. Burke Correctional Center in Waupun this morning. The 72-year-old served 24 years for the murder of Tom Monfils. Prosecutors say Moore and five other men conspired to kill Monfils for revenge. All six were found guilty in 1995 and sentenced to life in prison.
Moore is the fourth of the group to be released from prison. 71-year-old Michael Johnson is scheduled for release tomorrow.
