A Republican lawmaker from Howard is working on a bill to help protect them from scammers.
Rep. David Steffen wants to create standards and licenses, especially to protect against people that aren’t connected to companies that regularly do business in Wisconsin.
Steffen believes the storms that hit the state should be a wake-up call to the potential for scammers. He hopes lawmakers will schedule a hearing on the bill in the next three months.
