The Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary is trying to help wild animals hurt during the recent storms.
Curator Lori Bankson says people brought in over 150 animals over three days. They included hawks and squirrels. She wasn’t expecting that many. Bankson says they were ready for the hot weather last week, but the storms came almost out of nowhere.
Bankson says their goal is to help the animals recover and then release them back into the wild.
A state law says people have 24 hours after they find an injured animal to bring it to a facility that can help.
