School police officers are getting some extra training about online safety concerns.
Eric Tamashasky of Safer Schools Together is working with officers at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. He says they can prevent bad things from happening by knowing where to find information. He says in cases of school violence, people often point to posts or tweets and say there were signs.
Tamashasky says it’s hard for adults to keep up with all the different platforms kids use. He thinks officers and school staff can build relationships with students by learning about the latest in technology.
