The Appleton Public Library will have upgraded security soon.
The city council is agreeing to spend $175,000 on alarm systems, door locks, and other equipment.
Library Director Colleen Rortvedt says with the uncertainty about the future of the library, they’re trying to invest as few dollars as possible into their current building. She believes they’ll be able to move at least some of the equipment to a new building.
The city council didn’t talk about the project, before unanimously approving it last night.
