While they may be on the receiving end of sharp criticism from politicians and some talking heads, members of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection are finding support at the EAA AirVenture this week.
Interdiction Pilot Dan Houting believes those working the southern border have been put in an almost impossible situation. He says they do a lot of good work, and all of the people he’s worked with are good people. He says they just want to do the job and make sure it’s shown in the correct light.
Houting adds that nearly everyone coming through the International Federal Pavilion this week is offering support to him, and his fellow Border Patrol members.
Houting is stationed at the northern border. He says they mostly deal with drug smuggling from Canada.
