Appleton police say two men robbed a credit union on the city’s southeast side, and officers later cut off a chase with the possible suspects.
Sgt. Dave Lund says they now have the car that was used, and they’re still looking for two men.
He says both men had guns, and they were wearing masks when they went into Capital Credit Union on E. Calumet Street around 12:15 p.m. He says they drove off in a gray Pontiac G6.
About 10 minutes later, a car that matched the description was spotted on Highway 441 North. Officers were planning to make a high-risk stop, when Lund says the driver took off at high speeds. They stopped the chase because one of the suspects was driving recklessly.
Both suspects are described as black men. One is about 6-2 and 200 pounds. The second is about 5-8 with a medium build.
