A Madison-based immigration attorney will speak at Lawrence University this afternoon to set the record straight about a program that protects children who came to the U.S. illegally with their parents.
Monica Santa Maria says there’s a shifting landscape, and what we know one day isn’t necessarily accurate the next. She says young people in the DACA program need to know that even if their paperwork expires between now and March of next year, they can still reapply.
Santa Maria’s presentation starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Warch Campus Center cinema. The event is free and open to the public.
Santa Maria will answer questions following her talk.
