A fire smoldering since yesterday afternoon heavily damaged an Oshkosh apartment building on the city’s east side this morning.
Officials say a roofing contractor started and put out a small fire yesterday, but it reignited and became dangerous.
It took 20 firefighters from five fire departments over an hour and a half to put it out.
Heavy fire and smoke was coming from the roof when crews arrived around 2 a.m. this morning.
The apartment building is in the 200 block of Merritt Avenue.
