The Oshkosh Public Museum is closing a longtime exhibit today.
Logging and Lumbering was on display for 22 years.
Spokeswoman Karla Szekeres says back in the 1990s, the museum planned to show it off for three or four years. She says being exposed to light for so long is having an impact on the artifacts and they need to preserve them.
The museum will digitize the model of the Paine Lumber Company, and include it in a future exhibit on the history of the city.
An exhibit on sports history in Oshkosh will take the place of Logging and Lumbering. It’s scheduled to open sometime next year.
