A woman graduating from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College’s Marinette campus is talking about the obstacles she overcame.
Shannon Flores went to prison twice before turning her life around. She earned her GED when she was 35 and then enrolled at NWTC. She says the first semester was hard, and she didn’t know if she could do it.
Flores will graduate from a two-year manufacturing program and she already has a job lined up. Staff also picked her to give the commencement speech. Flores hopes her story will help people going through similar struggles.
