The Kaukauna school district will use additional state funding to improve safety and security at their schools.
Superintendent Mark Duerwaechter says the district will receive more than $1.5 million in new money. He says the upgrades were a part of the nearly $33 million referendum that failed in April.
Duerwaechter hopes construction can start in spring of next year.
He says the board will decide whether to propose another referendum for the November 2020 presidential election. He says the priority would be classroom space at River View Middle School.
