A fundraising effort for a teenager with cancer is taking off.
Charlie Knuth of the Darboy area was diagnosed with Lymphoma, and he was scheduled to have surgery Thursday.
The 13-year-old has also been dealing with a painful skin disease called E.B. for his entire life.
Local race car driver Andy Monday decided to auction off a door from his car to raise money. He also challenged other local drivers to join in, through his Facebook page, hoping he’d be able to bring in about $1,000.
Now, more than 100 drivers around the Midwest are auctioning doors and other items. There are more than $30,000 in bids, and all of the money will go to the Knuth family.
The auction is on Monday’s Facebook page.
