Organizers of a couple of protests in Waupaca held another one yesterday, after a man was accused of trying to attack a police officer last week.
Keaira Damron-Stine says they want to move forward. She says the movement doesn’t change, and what they’re trying to accomplish doesn’t either.
Police arrested Matthew Banta during a march last week. Prosecutors say he pointed a gun at an officer, before kicking at, and biting the officer.
Organizer Brianna Sparkles says they planned another protest right away, to show people they’re rallying to be heard, and not cause trouble. They also held a peaceful event in June.
