The start of the school year is online for Appleton students, and that led one teacher to change one of his traditions.
Appleton East High School English teacher Paul Miller made a video, instead of singing a song for students on the first day.
He changed the words from the theme song for the TV show “Friends.” Miller tells the students “I’ll be here for you, until you’re here with me too.”
He believes learning is about being uncomfortable, and challenging your skills. He says he sings a song on the first day to try to get a little uncomfortable in front of the students.
Miller says the video is taking off, and he’s received comments from places like Arizona and India.
