The longtime owner of Appleton Harley-Davidson was killed while riding his motorcycle on Sunday in Tennessee.
Maryville Police say Terry Doughty of Hortonville was stopped at a red light at the intersection of William Blount Drive and Highway 411 when he was hit from behind by the driver of a pickup truck. Chief Tony Crisp says the Knoxville woman told him she didn’t realize the bike was stopped. Doughty was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Crisp says charges haven’t been filed against the woman and the investigation continues. Doughty retired four years ago and his son took over the store.
