Gas stations and convenience stores in Appleton may be able to sell wine and liquor soon. The city’s Safety and Licensing Committee approves an amendment to the liquor license ordinance that barred any business that sold gas from stocking anything other than beer. City Clerk Kami Lynch says Appleton was the exception to common practice in Wisconsin. The Appleton Common Council will still have to approve the liquor licensing change.
