Another top official in Winnebago County is leaving. Finance Director Vicky Fitzgerald has tendered her resignation. Fitzgerald will become the new City Administrator and Treasurer in Omro. She will start in her new job January 5th. Fitzgerald had clashed with County Executive Jon Doemel after he proposed a 2022 budget that would not have increased the property tax levy to the limit set by the state. The Winnebago County Board would amend the budget to raise the levy to the limit. Former Clerk of Courts Melissa Pingel resigned last month to become Waushara County Administrator.
