MENASHA, WI — The Menasha Joint School District did not go too far outside the Fox Valley to find its next superintendent. Appleton Area School District Assistant Superintendent Matthew Zimmerman is selected to lead the Menasha district. Zimmerman and two other finalists met with the school board and a stakeholder group on Friday. Zimmerman has been with Appleton Schools since 2011. Prior to serving as Assistant Superintendent, he was Director of Technology Services and Innovation and Principal of Stephen Foster Elementary Charter School. Zimmerman starts as Menasha Superintendent on July 1st. He replaces Chris VanderHeyden, who’s retiring after ten years with the district.
