APPLETON, Wis. — An Appleton firefighter is taking up a unique challenge for this year’s Fox Cities Marathon.
Cory Asimus plans to run the race with a 100-pound ruck pack on his back.
Asimus says the reason for doing so is to raise awareness about young veterans who are diagnosed with cancer as a result of toxic exposures…
Asimus says he has received tons of support…
Asimus is raising money for Project Vaspire316, a nonprofit that helps families of veterans who die as a result of cancer. The funds will be used for cancer screening kits that will be given to Outagamie County veterans who are also first responders.
