UPDATE: A kayak believed to belong to Michael Iriarte was found on the lake this morning.

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. — Authorities are searching for a kayaker who went missing on Lake Butte des Morts.
Michael Iriarte, 41, reportedly launched a kayak in the area of Sammers Bay with the intent of fishing near Terrell’s Island Sunday afternoon.
When he did not return, crews searched the area for several hours before suspending efforts for the night.
The search resumed Monday morning with boats and a plane.
Iriarte was last seen wearing a blue and gray life jacket, a dark blue jacket, dark-colored pants, brown boots, a facemask and a hat. The kayak is described as a purple over-white 10-foot recreational kayak.
Anyone with information should contact the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
