Dave Edwards and How’s Your Week Going, 4-17-24
How much yard work is too much yard work? That, indeed, is the question.
Whether it’s a planter, a peach tree or a pergola, how many times after starting a yard project do you already have another one, two or three in the pipeline?
I have a terrible penchant for having 4 or 5 going at once. That said, I do finish them, but my “to do” list doesn’t often resemble “to done” as much as I’d like. Honestly, I get bored with doing one thing from start-to-finish in my yard. It must be like having a cheeseburger, but I gotta go nibble on fries or cheese curds every now and then!
I’m in the midst of re-doing some landscape bordering that needs to expand, but also stirring some mulch, pruning trees and bushes, mowing, fertilizing …you get the idea. Where’s Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid when you need him? Focus David-son, finish waxing the cars first before you move on to the next project!
We do this every spring, and by Memorial Day weekend, we’re sick of it! Which, ironically, is the date that I want to be done with all of these projects and enjoy the summer! I’m betting the over.
