TOWN OF FOND DU LAC — Speed and alcohol are believed to have contributed to a fatal two vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says the crash took place on County Highway D near Hawes Court at 7:41 AM Thursday. Investigators say a southbound vehicle failed to negotiate to a curve, overcorrected and went into the northbound lane colliding head on with another vehicle. The driver of the southbound vehicle was a 19-year-old man from Pharr, Texas who was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Two other people in that vehicle suffered minor injuries andwere taken a hospital. The driver of the northbound vehicle, an Oakfield woman, was wearing a safety belt and was uninjured. The crash closed County Highway D for about four-hours to aid investigation teams. No names of those involved have been released.
