APPLETON, Wis. — A jury reaches a verdict in a wrongful death lawsuit against Ascension Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital in Appleton.
After just under two hours of deliberations, jurors exonerate the health care facility in the death of Grace Schara.
Her family sued the hospital and the doctors who treated the woman with Down Syndrome during the height of the COVID pandemic.
The family alleges that Schara was given a lethal cocktail of drugs and a “do not resuscitate” order was placed on her against the family’s wishes.
