CHILTON, Wis. — A two-vehicle crash in Calumet County results in the death of one of the drivers.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office says the crash occurred at the intersection of Irish Road and County Highway E in the Town of Rantoul around 2:36 p.m. Wednesday. A preliminary investigation finds an SUV driven by an 18-year-old Chilton woman came to a complete stop on northbound Irish Road at Highway E. It then pulled into the path of a sedan driven by an 89-year-old Brillion woman that was westbound on Highway E.
The 89-year-old woman died at the scene. The 18-year-old woman was not injured in the crash.
Sheriff’s deputies say failure to yield the right of way appears to be a factor in the crash.
